Our client operates 500 and 320 ton excavators loading waste onto 100 and 190 ton capacity trucks. The more units working the higher the cost and risk to a shutdown decision. The precision of making decisions by mining staff was less than 60% thereby requiring Senior directors to be available 100% of the time to ensure better decision making.

A SUE model was built to receive weather conditions and operational metrics and trained to recommend closing or continuation decisions.

No of trucks working, weather conditions (such as Lightning, Slippery, Rain, Low Visibility, Sunny,), Dust levels, availability of water trucks and current mining performance (low, medium or high)
